Norfolk Christian Academy has been an instant goldmine for Mike London.
For the third time this year, the Cavaliers have offered a football scholarship and landed a player from the private school in the Tidewater region.
The latest verbal commitment came from defensive end Courtnye Wynn, giving Virginia 15 players for the Class of 2012. He picked UVa over North Carolina State and Virginia Tech and held numerous offers.
"Coach London and Coach Jim Reid gave off a family vibe," Wynn said. "That's what I am all about."
Listed at 6-foot-6 and 245 pounds, Wynn has only played football for two years, but the recruit drew rave reviews for his intensity during games.
Virginia had already received verbals from linebacker Kwontie Moore and wideout Wil Wahee, both from Norfolk Christian.
All three have stated their desire to return the Cavaliers to a relevant program in the ACC.
"It doesn't matter how many bowl rings you have or how many championships you have," Wynn said. "I wasn't there when that happened. It matters when you get there and what you are a part of.
"I want to be a part of that at Virginia."
Wynn is rated by one recruiting service as the 12th-best player in the state, making him the second-highest rated player in Virginia to pick the Cavaliers. Only his prep teammate, Moore, is ranked higher among in-state products that have picked Virginia.
The Cavaliers have also landed Andre Miles-Redmond (Hermitage), Tyrell Chavis (Varina), Mark Hall (Green Run), Maurice Canady (Varina) and Wahee.
London has stated that the incoming class may not reach 20 total commitments, placing pressure on numerous kids that have offers and could be eventually lose their offer.
