In Seattle, the Virginia men’s tennis team is now just one win away from a record fourth-straight ITA Team Indoor title.

On Sunday night, UVa defeated Ohio State, 4-1, to move into today’s finals against Tennessee. It will be a rematch of last year’s finals in Charlottesville, won by the Cavaliers.

On the campus of the University of Washington, Virginia got off to a strong start against the Buckeyes, taking the doubles point. Michael Shabaz and Alex Domijan won, 9-7, at the No. 1 spot; and Drew Courtney and Steven Eelkman Rooda took care of business at No. 3, winning 8-5.

In singles, senior Sanam Singh quickly put the Wahoos up by a 2-0 count with a dominating 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 3.

After Courtney lost a close two-setter at No.5, Domijan prevailed in straight sets at No. 2 before Shabaz closed out the Buckeyes with a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Blaz Rola, the fifth-ranked player in the country, in the No. 1 match.
